Lennie love to stroke soft things like fur and hair, this often give him problems. They are 2 men that went to California to find work during the great depression. They dream about owning their worn land someday, but that dream is crushed when Lennie kills a woman by accident. He is also accused of attempted rape when he stroke a womans dress. He is beeing chased by a lynch mob in the end of the book, so George shoots him to give him a painless death. Caught in a Vicious Circle

Grace: Grace is a coward, she don’t have her own opinions about things and only do what Cordelia do. She is mean towards Elaine, but i don’t know if she wants to do it or is just afraid that Cordelia might do something towards her if she don’t.

Carol: Carol is a bit like Grace, she is also afraid of what Cordelia might do towards her so she is mean towards Elaine too. She is also a coward and care more for her friendsship with Cordelia than Elaine’s life.

Elaine: Elaine was a piece in a “game” Cordelia played, and she had to listen to Cordelia all the time, which she did because she was afraid of cordelia. After she fell through the ice she thought a lot about it and in the end she left Cordelia and got new friends, something she should have done a long time ago.

Cordelia: Cordelia is a girl that think she owns everything, and that life is just a game where the people around her are pieces. She is mean towards her friends, and don’t care at all about other peoples feelings. She also don’t care if people get hurt, she said she didn’t know that Elaine fell trough the ice but she should not have left while Elaine was down there anyway.

Elaine’s mom: Elaine’s mom is a bit strict, but kind woman. She takes good care of Elaine.

Theme of this story: The theme of this story is that you should have your own opinions, and if your friends do something you dont like against you or others you should have the guts to walk away.  It is also about bravery and  cruelty among children.

What i like and dislike about the story:  I like that Elaine had the guts to leave her “friends” and get new friends instead, and i dislike that some people can be so mean as Cordelia is.
